Family Discovery SeriesYou and your family will be dancing in the aisles when the TSO explores classical music’s most-loved dance selections. Listen to the music that sparked a national dance craze and enjoy learning about the orchestra too! This concert features Tuscaloosa’s own Demondrae Thurman, conductor and euphonium soloist. Selections include: Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty Waltz, Gade’s Jalousie Tango, Saint-Saens’ Dance Macabre, Copland’s Hoe Down and other ragtime, rumba and classic favorites.

Join us for the Symphony Guilds “Instrument Petting Zoo” where kids may hear, touch and play the instruments of the orchestra. Petting Zoo begins at 4:30 in the lobby of Moody Concert Hall and is free to all ticketed audience members. The concert begins at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 90 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
